My First Day Off

Today is my day to recuperate. I watched the Olympic TV coverage last night. It was the first night that I've been able to do this. I usually go to dinner and then go to sleep. I watched the Chinese pair figure skaters take the Silver and the Gold. I was really happy for them, especially the pair that had the male skater who was the first ever to compete in the winter games in 1994. It's took him 4 Olympic Games. Perseverance is his middle name. They were given an standing O.

I stayed up until midnight watching TV and then slept in until 9:45am. I can't remember the last tie that I slept for almost 10 hours. Earplugs are worth every cent I paid for them. I woke up to freshly fallen snow. I took pictures from my upstairs bedroom window.

I had left over pizza for breakfast, yum. The restaurants are quite expensive. In the words of one of my Canadian friends, Cheryl, "The prices are Olympic prices." I work between 8-12 hours a day and get lunch free as well as snacks during the day. We can have bananas, oranges, apples, granola bars, and chocolate chip cookies. They also provide coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Granola bars have been a lifesaver.
